KPC Renovation Update Page

On this page we will attempt to keep you up to date on the various stages of the renovations that are currently happening at Kortright Presbyterian Church. While every attempt will be made to keep the information current, there may be day-to-day changes not currently included on this page. Current Status - Update for the week of Jan 4:

• Framing of the Sanctuary and Youth Room walls to begin this week. All wall coverings will be removed to allow for the framing.
• Structural welding will continue in various interior locations to accommodate the weight of the new roof top units. Ceiling tiles will be removed in these areas, and rooms will be protected from the work by sheets of plywood.
• The roofing will continue to be replaced - work has been started over the East Pod area. The existing roofing and insulation will be removed, and new tapered insulation and a roof membrane will be installed.
• Additional roof drains will be installed in some areas of the building to make up for the eliminated perimeter drains.
• The design of a more efficient lighting layout has been completed for the sanctuary, and the materials are being ordered.

With many sub-contractors and tradesmen going in and out at KPC there are a few rules that need to be followed regarding communications. Please read and adhere to these guidelines.

The funding that we have received from the government requires that the renovations be completed by the end of March 2010. We will do our best to let you know how the schedule is progressing and if there is anything you can do to assist.

Many people are curious as to how we went about acquiring the grant that allowed KPC to go ahead with these renovations. It was done through the Community Adjustment Fund and we do our best to answer your questions HERE.
