Introducing kpc Storytellers Guild . . .

At Kortright, a number of goals have been established that we desire to see accomplished within the context of the Christian life and in corporate worship in particular.

One of those goals is ...

Provide opportunity to remember and respond to God as his creatures . . . . . . and figure out how we fit into God's Story.

To achieve this aim it is important that God's Story is told effectively; for that reason the Kortright Storytellers Guild was formed.

These talented individuals devote themselves to learning the stories of God, just as they appear in scripture, and using the storytellers art recount those stories for the congregation during our worship services and at other venues.

The result is a dynamic presentation of the scriptures that engages the congregation in the way we believe the scriptures we meant to be presented. All too often in our results-oriented culture the Bible is regarded as a reference book - a place to turn to for information regarding specific circumstances, or as a text book that needs to be studied and analyzed in order to assimilate as much of the information as possible.

This ministry seeks to remind us that first and foremost the Bible is the story of God and His actions in the world and in history. As with any people, it is in these stories that we find our heritage, our purpose, and our identity as citizens of the Kingdom of God.
